This is a beautiful example of the rare and highly sought-after Audemars Piguet Royal Oak, reference 5402, dating from the 1970s. Designed by Gerald Genta, the Royal Oak is the flagship model of this legendary watchmaker, and these early models enjoyed meteoric popularity; finding a fine example has become increasingly difficult. This particular model is two-tone, in stainless steel and yellow gold, reference "5402SA".

As with the stainless steel 5402, the very first examples of ref. 5402SA feature the applied AP logo at 6 o'clock, which would later move to the 12 o'clock position. With its 39mm case, it offers a classic, wearable size that suits both casual and formal occasions, making it a timeless piece for collectors and enthusiasts.
